This client’s heritage-listed building called for some creative work from Empire’s design team when installing the workstations. The pillars of this space were uneven, and required some customisation to allow the workstations to fit around them. The colour combinations of chocolate-brown and an occasional peek of red and orange give a warm feel, and a callback to what the space might have once been.

Smooth simplicity & Empire ease

Exposed brickwork lent itself to the warm colour palette, which Empire was able to complement with its desk dividers and white and chrome desks.

Working with a heritage listed building can cause challenges for modern design and corporate needs. In this case, Empire’s approach gave the space a chance to speak to its history and keep its original, classic vibe, while still satisfying modern power and desking needs.
